Well... You found it.

This little corner of The Tuga Table isn't linked in the menu, so if you're reading this, you were curious enough to keep exploring. I like people like that. The recipes contained here may be part of some of the regular content, most may not. Either way...

Recipes from my family, lovingly passed down through generations and gathered here for the next ones.

This page isn't really for the internet.

It's for my four boys. For the grandkids I hope I'll spoil one day. For my cousins' children. For anyone in our family who someday wonders, "How did Grandma make that?"

It's for preserving the little things that don't always make it into a cookbook. A pinch of this. A splash of that. "You'll know when it looks right." If you're Portuguese, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Some of these recipes come from my mom. Some from my grandma or Vóvó Julia (my bisavó). Or from my uncle, dad, aunt, cousins, friends we call cousins, and everything in between. Others have found their way into our family over the years and earned a permanent place at the table. Each one carries a memory. A story. A celebration. Or someone who's no longer with us but still manages to show up every time we make their recipe.

If you're family, welcome home. If you're not... You're still welcome to pull up a chair. Just promise me one thing. Make these recipes with love. Because recipes aren't just instructions. They're one of the ways we remember the people we love. And as long as someone is still making their food... A little piece of them is still at the table.

With love,
Vanessa
